Adellion |
07.2005 |
 |
Adellion is a unique MMORPG under
development by HonourBound Ltd.in the UK and publisher
Alchemic Dream. Pariah Games has
undertaken to expand the torque engine created by the fine folks over at
GarageGames to allow it to be used
as an MMORPG engine.
The project is currently in Alpha trials with a select group of testers that
are avid roleplayers gathered from the Adellion forums. They have provided valuable
insights and made many useful suggestion for the improvement of the game.
The game has an extensive backstory and is unique in the MMO space for its
emphasis on role-playing and medieval (rather than fantasy based) elements.

Adellion - a bit of background... |
03.07.2004 |
 |
Imagine six very different cultures forced onto a small isand after a series of cataclyms
have devastated their world. Suspicious, resentful, and with a long history
of enmity they battled each other for nearly a hundred years until disease, exhaustion,
and hunger have forced a truce. Now, they must work together to forge a common
economy, bury old hatreds, and create a better life for themselves or they will all die.
This is the brutal reality of Adellion. A world capable of sustaining a last
remnant of several diverse peoples...
or
becoming their final resting place.

Still more Adellion coverage! |
03.07.2004 |
 |
Adellion picked up some additional coverage last week in the form of the
second part of an interview with the devs in
RPGVault.
Shortly after that, Project Leader John Bates slipped into the seamier quarters
and engaged in a surreptitious discussion with members of the infamous
Confreire de Tenebres,
a French speaking roleplaying thieves guild.
Persons who would like to find out the gist of the conversations can go to
either site and hunt around, or drop on over to the
Adellion
website and pick up
links there as well as visit the forums and see what other like minded individuals
are considering about the latest revelations.

Adellion Gets an Alpha Date! |
03.01.2004 |
 |
After considerable discussion Adellion finally has an initial Alpha date
for first visitation by prospective players. The month of October,2004 has
been targeted as the date during which the game will initially get its
first public visitors.
What can they expect to see?
There are currently plans for persons to be able to travel around part
of the game world in the northern portion of the giant island in an area
controlled by the Salans. Other cultural types will also be found here as
the small town being showcased is a port city with an active fleet.
Most of the environmental aspects of that area should
be complete, including rising and falling sun, fractal cloud formations,
starry night skies, plant formations and moving water. Visitors may even
be accosted by small clouds of flying insects which come out during the
warmer parts of the day.
Pariah Games is responsible for the creation of game engine which will drive
the MMOG. Based on the torque engine from GarageGames which powered hit titles
such as StarSiege tribes and Tribes II it is being modified to support the
requirements of a massive multiplayer game.
